VNA Adds Behavioral Modeling For Nonlinear-Characterization Functionality

Oct. 3, 2014
The Cardiff Model Lite test solution combines a vector network analyzer (VNA) and phase-reference technology to test the interactions between different circuit elements.

The Cardiff Model Lite, jointly developed by Rohde & Schwarz and Mesuro, allows users to characterize components by their nonlinear properties. By implementing Mesuro’s phase-reference technology, R&S’ ZVA vector network analyzer (VNA) turns into a nonlinear device (NVNA). Signal routing and conditioning are contained within external hardware, which is connected to the VNA via link cables. As a result, it won’t impact the VNA’s RF performance when executing standard measurements. The Cardiff Model Lite suits designers who need to understand the interactions between different circuit elements when integrating component blocks.
