Ideal for a number of VHF and UHF applications, the model DCM03288-5 surface-mount voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) from Synergy Microwave packs a tuning range of 320 to 880 MHz into a package measuring just 0.5 x 0.5 in. The oscillator draws just 28 mA maximum current from a +5-VDC supply yet delivers +3-dBm minimum output power. The maximum tuning voltage is +26 VDC with a tuning sensitivity of typically 15 to 40 MHz/V. The phase noise is -109 dBc/Hz offset 10 kHz from the carrier, with harmonic suppression of typically 10 dB. Typical frequency pushing and pulling are 2 MHz/V and 5 MHz, respectively. The VCO is manufactured with a lead-free process.
