Amplifiers Power 20 To 1000 MHz

May 14, 2013
High-power solid-state amplifiers provide 1 kW pulsed or CW output power from 20 to 1000 MHz.

A trio of high-power solid-state amplifiers developed by Empower RF Systems is now available from Richardson RFPD for applications from 20 to 1000 MHz. The three amplifiers are model 2126/BBS3E3KUT, with 60-dB gain and 1000 W output power from 20 to 500 MHz, model 2162/BBSE4AUT, with 60-dB gain and 1000 W output power from 20 to 1000 MHz, and model 2066/BBS3K4AUT, with 60-dB gain and 1000 W output power from 500 to 1000 MHz. Each amplifier is supplied in a five-unit-high rack-mount enclosure. They are designed to be continuously monitored for critical performance parameters—including temperature, current consumption, and voltage levels—with protection and shut-down options available via microcontrollers. The amplifiers are suited for both CW and pulsed applications.
