Software Checks Captured Signals

Sept. 14, 2013
This signal analysis software makes it possible to study four simultaneous signals with high resolution and accuracy.

Signals that are captured from locations of interest must be effectively analyzed, and Version 4.0 of the Spectro-X RF/microwave signal analysis software from X-COM Systems, LLC, a subsidiary of Bird Technologies Group, promises comprehensive analysis capabilities. Designed to search for and analyze signals of interest within long-duration recordings of signal activity, the software can scrutinize as many as four recorded spectrum files with precision alignment to within one sample.

The software—which is ideal for such applications as communications, electronic intelligence (ELINT), signal intelligence (SIGINT), and electronic countermeasures (ECM)—is easy to use and requires no programming skills. The software can be used with files captured by a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) signal analyzer or instruments such as the IQC5000A Series Spectrum Capture and Playback System from X-COM or custom files created in commercial math programs. Results can be exported in a file format usable by vector signal analysis software for demodulation and detailed analysis. Pulsed waveforms can be characterized by their rise and fall times, pulse width, pulse repetition interval, peak and average power, and carrier frequency. A free 30-day trial version, a self-guided demo, and other technical resources can be accessed at X-COM’s website.

X-COM Systems, LLC, 12345-B Sunrise Valley Dr., Reston, VA 20191; (571) 612-5490.
