Research released by Maravedis in the first issue of the research firm's quarterly newsletter, the WiMAXCounts Newsletter, points to increasing global deployments of WiMAX technology, with the United States, Spain, and Australia reported as the top three countries in terms of number of subscribers. In the first quarter of 2007, these three countries accounted for 500,000 broadband- wireless-access (BWA) and WiMAX subscribers.
