Model GSA804 is a linear gain block from GraSen Technology with nearly flat gain of typically 12.5 dB from 1 MHz to 4 GHz. It is based on an InGaP/GaAs heterojunction-bipolar-transistor (HBT) process and Darlington pair configuration internally matched to 50 ?. It achieves a noise figure of 4.5 dB, output third-order-intercept point of +40 dBm, and output power at 1-dB compression of +20 dBm. It is suitable for test equipment and wireless communications applications. According to Stan Gray, the firm's Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO), "A unique feature of this new gain block's operational performance is the elimination of external equalization or optimization, which can significantly reduce external components required for typical applications." The gain block is available in an SOT-89 package (as model GSA804-89) and in a surface-mount 0805 package (as model GSA804-12).
