The CLX series of miniature frequency synthesizers from EM Research includes fixed-frequency models from 200 MHz to 4 GHz in a package measuring 0.75 x 0.75 x 0.25 in. (19 x 19 x 6.4 mm). The internally programmed units are available with output-power levels from 0 to +13 dBm and with typical phase noise of better than -120 dBc/Hz offset 10 kHz from the carrier. As an example, model CLX-900-XX operates at 900 MHz with +7 dBm output power and -15 dBc harmonics. Spurious levels are -70 dBc while operating from 135 mA at +3 VDC. The phase noise is -108 dBc/Hz offset 10 kHz from the carrier and -132 dBc/Hz offset 100 kHz from the carrier.
