It is very rare that I am driven to write to the media but your recent piece in Microwaves & RF supposedly reviewing the world of waveguides ("Waveguide Components Cut Losses While Passing Power," July 2007, p. 40) has certainly raised some eyebrows here at Credowan.

We have manufactured waveguide products here since the early 1950s and now, combined with our French factory known as Hypertechnologies, are the dominant force in space and defense markets in Europe.

You also failed to mention out sister companies in the US, now branded as Cobham DES.

I would be delighted to help you with any future plans that you may have in this area to give a more comprehensive and balanced view of this substantial part of the microwave industry.

Jack Browne responds: There is always the danger in doing a quick review article that more than a few companies will be left out. My apologies to you and Credowan. It was not my intention to omit anyone, or to print a partial story. It does happen when faced with limited space, and I will be sure to include you the next time around.
