High-definition crystal oscillatorsor HDXO sources, as they are termed by developer Anderson Electronicsprovide the performance needed for low-jitter applications without the long lead times associated with such oscillators. The firm's AE108 and AE105 series HDXOs are supplied in hermetic 7x 5 mm and 5 x 3.2 mm ceramic packages, respectively, and are available in clock or voltage-controlled (VCXO) configurations with CMOS or differential outputs.

They can be specified at frequencies from10 to 1500 MHz. The HDXO sources employ high-performance quartz crystal resonators and a fifth-generation application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) to achieve outstanding stability and low jitter at customer specified frequencies.
