Solid-state amplifier specialist Empower RF Systems has announced the appointment of Barry Phelps as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Phelps, who has been an Empower board member since 2007, has served previously as Division President of Spirent Communications. The founder of Empower, Efraim (Effi) Bainvoll, maintains the title of President and remains strongly involved in developing new products and technologies for the company, which recently celebrated its tenth anniversary.
