California Eastern Laboratories has joined the ZigBee Alliance, an international organization dedicated to the development and deployment of products based on the Zigbee/IEEE 802.15.4 open global standard for wireless connectivity. The ZigBee Alliance now claims more than 250 company members. As a Participant Member, CEL will take part in ZigBee Alliance working groups and member meetings, helping to shape the organizations' specifications.

According to Rich Howell, CEL's director of business development, "Our ZigBee radio modules provide a fully integrated drop-in solution for our customers' low-cost, low-power IEEE 802.15.4 networks. By joining the alliance, we can assure our customers that our products are not only industry compatible, but they're also based on the most advanced ZigBee hardware and software."
