GraSen Technology LLC has announced a high-reliability gain block amplifier with 15-dB gain across the broad bandwidth of 1 MHz to 6 GHz. Model GSA606-12 is based on indium-gallium-phosphide/gallium-arsenide (InGaP/GaAs) heterojunction-bipolar-transistor (HBT) technology and is internally matched to 50 Ohms for ease of installation in standard high-frequency circuits and systems. The GSA606-12 gain block achieves a noise figure of 4 dB across the full bandwidth with +15-dBm output power at 1-dB compression and output third-order intercept point of +28 dBm. It is suitable for a wide range of wireless and test-equipment applications.
According to Stan Gray, the firm's chief technical officer and chief operating officer, "A unique feature of this new gain block's operational performance is the elimination of an external gain equalizer, which can include as many as eight external components required for typical applications." The amplifier is supplied in the company's new model 0805, lead-free, RoHS compliant surface-mount package. The 0805 package measures 0.080 x 0.050 x 0.032 in. The amplifier is priced at $3.60 (USD) each in 1000 quantity and available from stock.
