Model OLD2644A is a Schottky diode limiter from OMNIYIG, Inc. designed for applications from 8 to 16 GHz but usable from 2 to 18 GHz. Its typical application is to protect receiver front ends and other sensitive components from high-level signals. The limiter features low insertion loss and VSWR at signal levels below the turn-on point (+5 to +10 dBm), which act as variable shunt (reflective) impedances beyond the turn-on point. In doing so, they ensure that high-level signals do not damage the sensitive components following the limiter in a signal chain. The limit can handle CW power levels to 10 W and peak power levels to 1 kW with response time on the order of 200 to 500 ns. The compact coaxial limiters are supplied with SMA connectors.
