PCTEL has rolled out a low-profile, permanent-mount antenna aimed at telemetry applications using mobile and fixed wireless networks. The model PTELMB antenna provides multiband support for operating frequencies of 824 to 896 MHz, 1850 to 1990 MHz, and 2400 to 2500 MHz, with 360-deg. horizontal beamwidth in all three bands. The vertical beamwidth is 40 deg. with 2.9-dBi peak gain from 824 to 896 MHz, 25-deg. vertical beamwidth with 3-dBi peak gain from 1850 to 1990 MHz, and 24-deg. vertical beamwidth with 4-dBi peak gain from 2400 to 2500 MHz.

The compact antenna measures just 4.4 x 1.5 in. (11.18 x 4.06 cm) and weighs just 0.4 lbs. (0.18 kg). It can handle maximum power of 10 W and employs vertical linear polarization. It is ideal for indoor or outdoor use and can be used for wireless network optimization, vending machine monitoring and maintenance, energy, oil, and water meter remote monitoring, and land surveying.
