Model AMF-5B is a compact, low-profile X-band power amplifier from MITEQ designed for applications from 8.5 to 10.5 GHz requiring a small footprint. It delivers 10 W peak output power at duty cycles to 50 percent over the band, with maximum typical droop of 0.1 dB or less for pulses over 100 s long. With proper heatsinking, the amplifier can also be used for CW applications. It provides 40 dB minimum gain with better than 1.5 dB gain flatness and maximum noise figure of 2.5 dB. The input and output VSWRs are typically 1.50:1 and 1.20:1, respectively. At peak power levels, the amplifier draws 6 A or less from a +12-VDC supply.
