Amplifier Gains Millimeter Waves

Model HHPAV-362 is a millimeter-wave power amplifier from Renaissance Electronics Corporation/HXI designed for applications from 59 to 61 GHz and usable to 65 GHz. Based on monolithic-microwave-integrated-circuit (MMIC) technology for repeatability, the amplifiers feature typical small-signal gain of 18 dB from 59 to 62 GHz with +24 dBm typical output power at 1-dB compression and +27 dBm saturated output power. The amplifier, which draws 1.3 A current at +6.5 VDC under typical linear operation, achieves a third-order intercept point of typically +32 dBm. It exhibits input and output return loss of 13 dB and is equipped with a WR-15, UG-385/U interface. The amplifier can be used in transmitters for communication and radar systems and also as part of test equipment suites. Multiple devices have been combined to achieve the output power. Each amplifier contains a voltage regulator and bias sequencing circuitry allowing the use of a single bias to power the amplifier.
