YIG Oscillators Tune 2 to 13 GHz

Jan. 21, 2015
These surface-mount YIG-tuned oscillators are available in bands from 2 to 13 GHz.

The MLSMO-Series of permanent-magnet YIG-tuned oscillators are available in customer-selected tuning ranges from 2 to 13 GHz. Examples include 2 to 4 GHz, 3 to 6 GHz, and 4 to 9 GHz. Each of these models delivers at least +8 dBm output power with worst-case output-power variation of 4 dB across the frequency range. The worst-case frequency drift with temperature is ±10 MHz. The oscillators exhibit typical pulling (into a 12-dB return loss) of 2 MHz and typical pushing of 2 MHz/V at +8 VDC. The spurious noise is -70 dBc or better while the phase noise is no worse than -103 dBc/Hz offset 10 kHz from the carrier and -128 dBc/Hz offset 100 kHz from the carrier. The compact oscillators operate on  +8 and -5 VDC supplies and are designed for operating temperatures from 0 to +65°C. They are supplied in surface-mount packages measuring only 0.7 × 0.7 × 0.562 in.
