The WaveRunner 6000 series of general-purpose digital storage oscilloscopes (DSOs) from LeCroy Corp. (Chestnut Ridge, NY) combine high performance and signal-processing power in cost-effective instruments. Available in models operating from 350 MHz to 2 GHz, the WaveRunner DSOs include advanced triggering capabilities in the form of the company's SMART Trigger technology, allowing operators to effectively capture pulse edges, pulse widths, glitches, and even signal timeouts. By keeping the circuitry active 100 percent of the time, operators can capture intermittent events that are difficult to detect through normal triggering techniques. WaveRunner scope models are available with two or four channels at prices ranging from $7500 to $26,000, depending on frequency range, channels, and memory options.
