Raytheon Recognizes AVX for Teamwork

Nov. 8, 2018
AVX Corp. was recently presented with the 4-Star Supplier Excellent Award from Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) business unit.

Sometimes it’s the little things that count. For major defense contractor Raytheon Co., it has been the little things that AVX Corp. makes and does that make all the difference and have earned the AVX Filters division the prestigious 4-Star Supplier Excellent Award from Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) business unit. The award, which is now in its 12th year, recognizes suppliers who have provided outstanding service and partnership in exceeding customer requirements, including overall quality and on-time delivery. It is the first time that Raytheon has honored AVX with the award.

The AVX Filters division, based in Sun Valley, Calif.., designs and manufactures electronic filters, capacitors, medical filters, space-qualified components, EMI filters, and electronic subassemblies for commercial, medical, industrial, and military applications. “We are committed to developing innovative passive component, interconnect, sensor, control, and antenna solutions that exceed both our quality standards and our customer’s expectations and help advance technology across multiple markets,” said Alex Schenkel, the company’s vice president of global sales.

AVX boasts experience and expertise in filters and the components they are based on and provides the production and test capabilities to supply special custom designs as well as larger-volume projects. For example, the firm recently announced its BP Series MLO bandpass filters for demanding RF/microwave applications but also extended the product lines for its ESCC quality products list (QPL) line of 3009/041 space-level X7R BME multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), which are essential circuit building blocks for many different RF filters and other high-frequency printed-circuit-board (PCB) components.
