General Motors has named Laird Technologies its 2008 Supplier of the Year, the fourth consecutive year the firm has received the accolade. Laird, known for its advanced electronic and wireless components as well as EMI shielding solutions, received the award for contributions to GM's global product and performance achievements at the 17th Annual "Best of the Best" ceremonies conducted at the GM Heritage Center in Warren, MI earlier this month.

According to Bo Andersson, GM Group Vice President, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain, "GM is proud to honor our best suppliers with the Supplier of the Year award, an award that we believe is the most meaningful honor in the supplier industry. During these difficult economic times, it's more important than ever to recognize performance in our supply base. These suppliers are the best of the best and we want to honor them for their tremendous performance."
