ITT Microwave Systems has developed a dual-synthesizer version of its Wavecor direct-digital-synthesizer (DDS) product. The dual synthesizer, capable of generating multiple waveforms from 300 MHz to 18 GHz, features typical spurious levels of -65 dBc. The phase noise is outstanding, typically -125 dBc/Hz offset 10 kHz from a 9-GHz carrier. The dual frequency synthesizer, which is supplied in a 6U rack-mount enclosure, offers frequency switching speed of better than 300 ns.
