Tektronix is offering a free, 52-page application note on arbitrary waveform generation called "XYZs of Signal Sources." Available for download from the company's website (after a brief questionnaire), the detailed application note examines the meaning of different arbitrary waveform generator specifications, including bandwidh, horizontal and vertical resolution, memory depth, filtering capabilities, and sequencing capabilities. Based on the firm's AFG3000 series of arbitrary waveform generators (with frequencies to 240 MHz and sampling rates to 2 GSamples/s), the application note shows how to create different types of waveforms, including modulated and pulsed signals. For a free copy (after that little survey), visit the Tektronix website at http://www.tektronix.com
