Agilent Technologies has entered the handheld spectrum analyzer market with its first handheld RF spectrum analyzer. The Agilent N9340A operates from 100 kHz to 3 GHz with one-button measurements for occupied bandwidth, channel power, and adjacent-channel power, making it well suited for wireless installation and maintenance professionals. It has a built-in preamplifier. The displayed average noise level (DANL) with the preamplifier on is -144 dBm for a 30-Hz resolution-bandwidth filter at center frequencies to 1.5 GHz, and -124 dBm with the preamplifier off. The phase noise is -87 dBc/Hz offset 30 kz from the carrier. The analyzer weighs 3.5 kg with battery and features a large 7.2-inch color liquid-crystal-display (LCD) screen. The starting price is $8200. FOr information specific to the new Agilent N9340A, go to: http://www.agilent.com/find/N9340A.
