Aeroflex has added new features to its IQCreator test software to support the fast-growing WiMAX 802.16 standard for broadband wireless metropolitan area networks (WMANs). The latest version of the software, version 8.3, also adds support for cellular commuincations standard cdma2000 1xEVDo rev A uplink capabilities. The software has been developed for use with the company's 3410 and 300 series PXI-based digital RF signal generators, allowing users to create arbitrary waveforms representing both WiMAX uplink and downlink signals for system and component testing.
