Signal Generators Switch To 20 GHz

Model 845 is a compact signal generator capable of fast switching speed and low phase noise from 10 MHz to beyond 20 GHz.

A line of high-performance signal generators from Berkeley Nucleonics includes models capable of operating to 20 GHz and beyond. A number of configurations are available, including benchtop units and portable models able to operate on battery power. As an example, model 845 is a compact signal generator with a frequency range extending from 10 MHz to beyond 20 GHz. It can be tuned with 0.001-Hz frequency resolution and offers output levels from -90 to +13 dBm, adjustable with 0.01-dB resolution. The phase noise is typically -108 dBc/Hz offset 20 kHz from a 10-GHz carrier. Model 845 features better than 200 μs switching speed and can generate a wide range of modulation formats; these include amplitude modulation (AM), frequency modulation (FM), phase modulation, and fast pulse modulation. The broadband signal generator weighs only 2.5 kg and consumes a mere 18 W power. A two-year warranty is standard with all instruments.
