Analyzer Hunts For Interference

May 7, 2013
An instrument with GPS and advanced software works with an existing line of analyzers to locate interference signal sources.

Model MA2700A InterferenceHunter is a handheld direction-finding (DF) system from Anritsu Co. well suited for finding interference sources in wireless networks. It is designed for use with the company’s BTS Master™, Cell Master™, Site Master™, and Spectrum Master™ portable handheld signal analyzers, with frequency dependent upon the analyzer. The Spectrum Master products, for example, are available for use through 20 GHz. The MA2700A incorporates a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver and antenna, electronic compass, and user-selectable preamplifier. It does not require an additional power source since it is powered through its own Universal Serial Bus (USB) connector. It is designed to work with the company’s easyMap software tools to draw a vector line to an interfering signal source on maps stored within the analyzer.
