Digital Variable Attenuator Controls 60 or 90 dB to 6 GHz

April 8, 2019
Weinschel's DA6 digital variable attenuator provides attenuation control ranges of 60 or 90 dB from dc to 6 GHz.

The DA6 is a bidirectional digital variable attenuator capable of handling 0.3 W input power from dc to 6 GHz. Available as model DA6-60 with 60-dB attenuation range or model DA6-90 with 90-dB attenuation range, both 50-Ω units feature ±0.5-dB attenuation accuracy. Maximum insertion loss is 9 dB for the 60-dB attenuator and 13 dB for the 90-dB attenuator. Attenuation is adjusted in 0.5-dB steps with 100-ns switching speed for high-speed applications. Operating temperature range is −60 to +85°C. The RoHS-compliant variable attenuator measures 56 × 32 × 13 mm with stainless-steel SMA connectors per MIL-STD-348A. It can be supplied with a USB 2.0 interface as an option.
