Keysight Hires Vice President for Communications Group

July 21, 2017
Keysight Technologies refreshed its executive ranks, hiring a new vice president of communication solutions and creating its first chief marketing officer role.

Keysight Technologies is refreshing its executive ranks. The company said on Friday that Satish Dhanasekaran had taken over as vice president of its communications solutions group, which sells equipment for testing wireless devices, internet infrastructure, and aerospace applications.

Dhanasekaran, who worked on Motorola's first generation of smartphones, joined the test equipment firm in 2006. He led the marketing team for its microwave and communications division. Before the promotion, he managed Keysight's wireless devices and operations unit, overseeing the company's 5G technologies.

On Friday, the company also appointed Marie Hattar as the first chief marketing officer at Keysight, the former test equipment division of Agilent Technologies. She held the same role at her previous employer, Ixia. Keysight acquired the company, whose software tools probe wireless networks, for $1.6 billion in January.

Keysight says that Ixia’s software is critical for simulating and testing increasingly complex wireless networks. The software, which dovetails with Keysight's equipment for analyzing the electrical, wireless, and optical characteristics of devices, is particularly proficient at peeking into wireless networks and finding security holes. The deal closed in April.

Keysight is the latest test equipment firm to play musical chairs with its executive ranks. Earlier this month, Rohde & Schwarz, who has been targeting 5G wireless technology, hired a new vice president of its test and measurement unit. The job went to Andreas Pauly, its former president of signal generators, audio analyzers, and power meters.
