Amps and Switches Aid Satcom Systems

June 5, 2013
These high-performance amplifiers and switches are suitable for satcom and test systems.

Designing with the latest active devices, Microsemi Corp. will show some of its latest amplifier and switch products at booth No. 1455 at the 2013 IMS in Seattle. The firm’s model MSC2931P3540 Ka-band power amplifier is designed for satellite-communications (satcom) uplink applications, with 10-W output power from 29.5 to 31.0 GHz. The delivers 38-dB nominal gain over that frequency range when operating from a single +5-VDC supply. The hermetic amplifier can handle airborne environments to RTCA DO-160E requirements. At the 2013 IMS, Microsemi will also be showing its model GG-75431-64 single-pole, 36-throw (SP36T) absorptive switch for communications and test applications from 100 MHz to 20 GHz. Complete with a 6-b TTL-compatible driver, the switch operates from a single +5-VDC supply and can withstand MIL-PRF-883 conditions.
