New Coilcraft Conical Inductors Come in Two Flavors

May 20, 2015
Coilcraft’s BCR and BCL series of conical inductors operate as a series of narrowband inductors across a frequency range of 10 MHz to 40 GHz

Designed for broadband and high-frequency applications, Coilcraft’s BCR and BCL series of conical inductors operate as a series of narrowband inductors across a frequency range of 10 MHz to 40 GHz. The BCR inductors feature a full-length cap to protect the coil and maintain a large pick-and-place surface. The BCL series implements “flying leads” to allow for precise positioning and adjustment of the mounting angle. Both series come in nine inductance values, from 0.22 to 8.0 µH. They will find homes in ultra-wideband bias Tees—the conical inductor provides a path for dc bias injection or extraction while isolating the power source from the active device.

The company also addresses lower-frequency applications with the 4310LC series of wideband bias chokes. These provide flat bandwidth with high impedance to 6 GHz. All devices will be on display at the IEE MTT International Microwave Symposium (IMS2015) in Phoenix, Ariz.
