Materials Support High-Speed Circuits

Aug. 13, 2013
A high-speed material has been formulated to enable the design of low-skew differential circuits at speeds to 100 Gb/s.

The GigaSync™ printed-circuit-board (PCB) materials from Isola Group S.a.r.l. are engineered for low-skew, high-speed applications at rates from 25 to 100 Gb/s. The PCB materials have been evaluated by consulting firm Speeding Edge, using their proprietary Signal Integrity (SI) TV measurement approach. According to Lee Ritchey, President of Speeding Edge, “This material demonstrated the lowest skew that we have ever tested without relying on off-angle routing or off-angle fabrication. GigaSync makes designing very high-speed differential pairs as easy as its low-speed counterparts.” The GigaSync materials will be available with reverse-treated foil (RTF) and VLP-2, low-profile copper with 2-μm surface-roughness copper foil.
