The BTE synthesizer series from MITEQ is designed for applications requiring low phase noise from S-band through Ku-band frequencies. Standard units tune 12.72 to 14.84 GHz with 1 kHz resolution, although custom frequencies are available. They deliver +13 dBm output power with +/-2 dB output flatness. The phase noise is better than -87 dBc/Hz offset 1 kHz from the carrier and better than -111 dBc/Hz offset 1 MHz from the carrier. In-band spurious signals are -70 dBc. The synthesizers can be supplied with an optional fixed second local oscillator (LO) output and are packaged to meet extremely low electromagnetic-interference (EMI) emission requirements and has options for parallel or serial communications and control. They measure 8 x 5 x 0.7 in. with SMA female connectors and weigh less than 2 lbs.
