Tyco Electronics has introduced a trio of solutions for suppliers wanting to meet the United
States Department of Defense's (DoD's) radio-frequency-identification (RFID) mandate. Each kit
contains the hardware and software to allow companies to evaluate and begin deploying a
comprehensive RFID solution. In addition, each kit also includes extensive DoD compliance
information including background, official policy, supplier implementation plan, passive tag data,
supplier guide, references, and frequently asked questions. The kits include the DoD Mark-It with
RFID-enabled printer, PrintEasy software, and 1000 ePC Class 1, Gen 2 tags; the DoD Track-It,
with RFID reader/antenna system, RFID-enabled printer, PrintEasy software, and 1000 ePC Class
1, Gen 2 tags; and the DoD Share-It, with DoD compliance software suite, RFID reader/antenna
system, RFID-enabled printer, PrintEasy software, and 1000 ePC Class 1, and Gen 2 tags.
According to Eric Freid, director global business development for RFID products at Tyco
