The model ZRO2407A1LF voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) from Z-Communications has been developed for low-noise applications at S-band frequencies. The VCO tunes from 2400 to 2415 MHz via voltages of +0.5 to +4.5 VDC, with typical tuning sensitivity of 14 MHz/V. It delivers +3 dBm output power when drawing about 3 mA current from a +5-VDC supply. Typical phase noise is -115 dBc/Hz offset 10 kHz from the carrier, while second harmonic suppression is typically -18 dBc. The oscillator is supplied in the firm's standard MINI-16-SM package measuring 0.5 in. x 0.5 in. x 0.22 in. It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements.
