Z-Communications has introduced its model CLV1625A-LF RoHS-compliant voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) for L-band applications from 1510 to 1740 MHz. It exhibits low phase noise of -107 dBc/Hz offset 10 kHz from the carrier. The VCO, which delivers 0 dBm output power, tunes with voltages of 0.5 to 11.5 V and has typical tuning sensitivity of 28 MHz/V. It draws typical current of 28 mA from a +3.3-VDC supply. The oscillator maintains low second-harmonic content, at -15 dBc, and is supplied in a miniature package measuring jus 0.50 x 0.50 x 0.13 in. It is available in tape-and-reel packaging for use with automated assembly equipment in manufacturing.
