Model 794M from Narda Microwave-East is a variable attenuator with calibrated amplitude control range of 0 to 40 dB from 4 to 8 GHz. With a direct readout of attenuation value, it is ideal for applications in research and production test systems. The insertion loss above the selected attenuation value is 0.5 dB or less while the maximum VSWR is 1.25:1. It can handle 10 W average power and 5 kW peak power and offers attenuation accuracy of 2.5 dB. The variable attenuator measures 8.5 x 5.2 x 1.7 in. and weighs 5.7 lbs. with Type-N female input and Type-N male output connectors.
