The ADF500x series of RF prescalers from Analog Devices can be used in the front ends of microwave radios operating through 18 GHz. They provide fixed divide ratios of 2, 4, or 8 and low power consumption running on a nominal +3-VDC supply. The series includes the model ADF5000 divide-by-2 prescaler, the ADF5001 divide-by-4 prescaler, and the ADF5002 divide-by-8 prescaler. In active mode, the current consumption is 30 mA and as low as 7 mA in power-down mode. The phase noise is -150 dBc/Hz. They are supplied in 3 x 3 mm LFCSP housings and are supported by the company's free ADIsimPLL downloadable design software.
