Bruno Appointed To US Naval Research Advisory Committee
DR. MICHAEL S. BRUNO, Dean of Stevens Institute of Technology's Schaefer School of Engineering & Science, has been appointed to the Naval Research Advisory Committee (NRAC) by the Secretary of the Navy with the concurrence of the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Since arriving at Stevens in 1989, Bruno has distinguished himself as a leader in the field of coastal and ocean engineering and as a pioneering expert in the expanding field of maritime systems. As Directorfirst of the world-renowned Davidson Laboratory and, after 2003, of the Center for Maritime SystemsBruno has helped to create national awareness of the need for new technologies and methods to support the country's vital naval and industrial maritime infrastructure. Bruno was appointed Dean of the Charles V. Schaefer School of Engineering & Science in March 2007.

General Dynamics C4 SystemsJAMES NORTON has been named Director of Homeland Security and Federal Strategies. He will lead the General Dynamics C4 Systems Washington Operation's Federal, Civil, and Intelligence Community group from the Crystal City, VA office.

His government-service credentials include senior-level positions at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from 2003 to 2007 and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from 2001 to 2003. He previously served as a Director of Government Relations for General Dynamics.

Lockheed Martin Corp.JOSEPH LAMARCA, JR., has been named Vice President, Communications, for Lockheed Martin's Aeronautics business area. He formerly worked at Bell Helicopter in Fort Worth, TX, where he served as Vice President, Communications.

Scintera Networks, Inc.ANTHONY J. LEY has been appointed to the board of directors, bringing the number of directors to seven. Ley served as President and Chief Executive Officer at Harmonic for 18 years and as Chairman until 2008. Before Harmonic, he was at Schlumberger Ltd. in both Europe and the USmost recently as Vice President, Research and Engineering.

He has more than 20 years of experience in aerospace and defense as well as in the semiconductor industry. Zazkowski's career highlights include R&D, sales, and marketing at Watkins-Johnson (WJ), Fujitsu, and Microsemi.

AeroflexLUIS F. RIANO has been appointed as area Sales Manager for Latin America for Aeroflex's test and measurement product lines. He joins Aeroflex Test Solutions after 11 years with Ericsson, Inc. and Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, where he worked in various roles throughout Latin America.

Herley Industries, Inc.GERALD A. GAGLIARDI has been appointed to the board of directors. He also will serve as Chairman of the Audit Committee replacing Admiral Robert Moore, who passed away in October. The company's board now has six membersfive of whom are non-employee directors. Gagliardi's business career includes 28 years at Burroughs Corp./Unisys Corp., where he served in executive positions including President of Global Customer Services and Corporate Executive Vice President. He is currently Managing Partner of Lyme Technology LLC.
