Carlson Inducted Into Wireless Hall Of Fame
LEROY (ROY) T. CARLSON, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Telephone and Data Systems, Inc., has been inducted into the Wireless History Foundation Hall of Fame. Carlson, 94, founded TDS in 1969. Initially, it comprised 10 small, rural telephone companies. In 1983, Carlson founded TDS subsidiary United States Cellular Corp., which is now the sixth-largest full-service wireless provider in the US. He was CEO of TDS until 1986 and Chairman until 2002. TRM MicrowaveKEN GREENWOOD will serve as Director of Engineering. His background includes the design and development of terrestrial, air-toground communications systems and electronic-support-measures (ESM) systems. He has been involved in various startups in both telecommunications and optical infrastructure.
TowerJazzDR. FRANZ RIEDLBERGER has been appointed General Manager and Senior Sales Director, Europe. He joins TowerJazz following 30 successful years in the high-tech industry. Prior to this assignment, he spent 14 years with Motorola in various engineering and sales-management roles.
Taiyo America, Inc.HARUOMI YOSHIMOTO has been named President. He joined Taiyo Ink Mfg. Co. Ltd. (currently Taiyo Holdings Co. Ltd.) in July 1998 as the Assistant to the General Manager of Business Divisions. In April 2010, Yoshimoto was promoted to Executive Officer, General Manager of Corporate Strategies Division. He has been a Board of Director for Taiyo America, Inc. since June 1999.
XTAR LLCANDREW RUSZKOWSKI has been named Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing. He fills a position left vacant since the death of XTAR Vice President William Schmidt in April. Ruszkowski was previously Vice President, North American Sales, for SES World Skies.
Lockheed MartinPATRICK M. DEWAR has been appointed Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Business Development. He succeeds ROBERT H. TRICE, who will retire in February. Dewar formerly served as International Business Development Vice President.
Indium Corp.KARTHIK VIJAYAMADHAVAN has been promoted to Technical Manager in Europe. He joined Indium in 2003 as a Technical Support Engineer most recently as Area Manager. In addition, DR. TODD ELLENOR has been hired as the Metallurgical Process Engineering Manager.
West Wireless Health Institute (WWHI) DR. MOHIT KAUSHAL has been appointed Executive Vice President of Business Development and Chief Strategy Officer. He previously led the connected health team at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as Executive Vice President of Business Development and Chief Strategy Officer.
Plexus Corp.STEVE FRISCH has transitioned into a new role as Regional President-EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa). He will retain his leadership role over Plexus Technology Group, the company's engineering-services organization.
