The new R&S ZVA-Z500 frequency converters from Rohde & Schwarz enable network analyzers to operate at frequencies to 500 GHz. The converter allows millimeter-wave measurements with a dynamic range of better than 65 dB and typical output power of -24 dBm. The frequency converters work with the company's four-port network analyzers, using a command screen from the analyzer to select the proper local oscillator (LO) conversion ratio for a desired measurement frequency range. They can be used with waveguide connectors for analyzing components, or connected to commercial wafer probe systems for on-wafer device measurements.
