Solid-state amplifier specialist CTT has developed a compact amplifier capable of 40 W output power from 6 to 18 GHz. Based on gallium-nitride (GaN) monolithic-microwave-integrated- circuit (MMIC) device technology, the model AGM/180-4646 amplifier delivers 46-dB gain with gain flatness of 2.5 dB across the 12-GHz bandwidth. The noise figure is rated at 8 dB. The minimum saturated output power is +44.5 dBm, with typical saturated output power of +46 dBm. Suitable for broadband jammers, the amplifier measures 4.14 x 3.0 x 0.68 in. and draws 6.6 A current from a +36-VDC supply.
