Ceramic Antenna Captures GPS

Measuring only 3.2 x 1.6 mm, the 3216 PIFA ceramic chip antenna from Yageo Corporation is among the smallest Global Positioning System (GPS) antennas ever produced, and is ideally suited for use in mobile phones and portable navigation devices. With a center frequency of 1.575 GHz, its surface-mount configuration supports simplified manufacturing processes compared to the use of conventional monopole antenna designs. The firm also offers a variety of ceramic PIFA antennas, with the 3216 size supporting 1.575 to 2.45 GHz.
