A line of linear solid-state power amplifiers (SSPAs) and traveling-wave-tube (TWT) driver amplifiers has been developed by MITEQ for all common satellite communications (satcom) bands. Four models cover all of the common satellite communication bands: AMFLD-05700850-60-16P for C-/X band, AMFLD-12501850-60-18P for Ku-/DBS band, AMFLD-27003100-60-12P for Ka band, and AMFLD-43504550-100-17P for Q band. The AMFLD-43504550-100-17P has a 33 to 37 dB gain (with 30-dB gain control) flat to better than 1 dB typical, with +17 dBm output power at 1-dB compression and output third-order intercept point of better than +23 dBm. The noise figure is less than 10 dB. All four models have a common outline of 3.7 x 2.5 x 0.73 in. with SMA or K RF connectors and a multi-pin connector for supply, controls, and detector output. They are designed to draw 450 mA typical current from a single +15-VDC supply.
