A pair of mid- and high-power (2.4 to 2.5 GHz), high-efficiency power amplifiers (PAs) is intended for applications in IEEE 802.11n multiple-input-multipleoutput (MIMO) access points, routers, and gateways. The surface-mount-packaged 6-x-6-mm SKY65152- 11 boasts error vector magnitude (EVM) below 2.5 percent for output power beyond +27 dBm. It offers 32 dB gain and uses a single +5-VDC supply. The PA is internally matched with DC block and active bias circuits. It includes an internal on/off control circuit and a power detector. In addition, the SKY65152-11 fully matched PA incorporates a directional power coupler for accurate power detection and comes mounted in a multi-chip-module (MCM) package. Its sibling, the SKY65165-11, flaunts less than 2.5 percent EVM for output power beyond +24 dBm at 5 V. It provides 32.5 dB gain at 5 V. This PA offers internal bias circuits, an on/off control circuit, and a power detector. It operates from a dual DC supply from 3.3 to 5.0 V. The SKY65165-11 also is internally matched at the RF input port. It is mounted in a quad flat nolead (QFN) 3-x-3-mm surface-mount package. Both devices are fabricated using a heterojunction-bipolartransistor (HBT) indium-gallium-phosphide (InGaP) process. These monolithic-microwave-integratedcircuit (MMIC) PAs enable multiple-transmit channels on printed-circuit boards (PCBs). In addition, the mid-power PA offers two operating points in a single device. P&A: $1.58 each for the SKY65152-11 and $1.15 each for the SKY65165-11 (10,000 qty.)
