Tyco Electronics, M/A-COM has expanded its radio-frequency-identification (RFID) reader module line to include receive in-phase/quadrature (I/Q), source, and transmit modules. The modules are designed for use from 850 to 960 MHz. The model MAIA-007860-00100 receive module has phase balance of better than 2.5 deg. and noise floor of about 160 dBm/Hz. It operates with local oscillator (LO) drive level of 0 to +6 dBm and provides 44 dBc carrier suppression. The MAIA-007028-000100 source module is based on a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO), phase-locked-loop (PLL) filter, and temperature-compensated-crystal-oscillator (TCXO) reference source and provides better than 10 PPM stability. The MAIA-007851-000100 transmit module provides +32.5 dBm output power from a +3.6-VDC supply.
