THE HETEROLITHIC MICROWAVE integrated circuit (HMIC) broadband diode switches operate to 26 GHz with continuous-wave (CW) power handling to +38 dBm. For example, the MASW-002103-1363 single-pole, doublethrow (SPDT) switch exhibits 0.4 dB of insertion loss at 6 GHz with 43 dB isolation. At 20 GHz, it offers 0.7 dB insertion loss with 22 dB isolation. The family's single-pole, four-throw (SP4T) member, dubbed the MASW-004103-1365, exhibits 0.5 dB insertion loss and 35 dB isolation at 6 GHz. At 20 GHz, it has 0.9 dB insertion loss with 26 dB isolation. All of the switches handle +33 dBm power at 1-dB compression. The switches leverage the Surmount package technology, which vows to eliminate bondwire parasitics while enabling broadband capability in a surface-mount configuration. P&A: sampling now.
