A range of standard-length flexible cable assemblies features two double-screened coaxial-cable types. Over the inner conductor of silver-plated copper-clad steel, the solid polytetrafluoro- ethylene (PTFE) dielectric is wrapped with a silver-plated copper spiral strip. The silver-plated, copper-wire braid outer conductor is covered with a blue fluorinated-ethylene-propylene (FEP) jacket. Standard lengths range from 1 to 60 in.measured from the connector reference planesin outer-diameter sizes of 0.086 or 0.141 in. nominal. At 18.0 GHz, a 12-in. assembly in the 0.141-in. size typically exhibits insertion loss of 0.9 dB with VSWR of 1.30:1, 70.7 percent velocity of propagation, and 90-dB shielding effectiveness. It boasts insulation resistance of 1000 MO with a power rating of 40 W CW. To minimize cable twist during fitting, the series features stainless-steel SMA connectors with anti-torque bodies.
