SMT Switches Channel 150 W

June 5, 2013
A line of surface-mount switches can handle power levels to 150 W at frequencies to 4 GHz.

Teaming at the 2013 IMS, RFMW Ltd., at booth No. 1903, a stocking distributor for Skyworks Solutions, also present at IMS booth No. 630, will offer sales and design support for Skyworks' new line of high-power surface-mount switches, capable of operating through 4 GHz at power levels as high as 150 W. These single-pole, single-throw (SPST) and single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) models include the SKY12213-478LF with a frequency range of 500 to 4000 MHz and typical isolation of 23 dB. The SPST device maintains low insertion loss of typically 0.4 dB across that wide frequency range. The high-power switches are based on silicon PIN diode technology and are supplied in tiny 4 x 4 mm QFN surface-mount-technology (SMT) packages. They are suitable for cellular Long Term Evolution (LTE) base stations and other communications applications through 4 GHz.
