YIG Synthesizers Extend To 20 GHz

June 2, 2014
YIG-based frequency synthesizers provide output levels to +13 dBm from 0.6 to 20.0 GHz.

The MLSP Series of YIG-based frequency synthesizers from Micro Lambda Wireless covers a total frequency range of 600 MHz to 20 GHz with output-power levels from +8 to +13 dBm. These frequency synthesizers, well suited for communications systems and test equipment, are available in compact housings (2.5 × 2.5 × 1.0 in.) and with less than 8 W power consumption. They feature 5-ms tuning speed with five-line serial and Universal Serial Bus (USB) control. As an example, model MLSP-2080 operates from 2 to 8 GHz with 1-kHz tuning steps and +13-dBm output power. Phase noise is -95 dBc/Hz offset 10 kHz from the carrier and -117 dBc/Hz offset 100 kHz from the carrier, with typical spurious levels of -60 dBc or better and harmonics of -12 dBc or better. To learn more, see them in Tampa at IMS 2014 Booth No. 621.
