Amplifier Quells Noise To 40 GHz

This low-noise amplifier provides stable performance for satcom applications from 36 to 40 GHz.

In space-based communications systems, such as satellite-communications (satcom) systems, minimizing noise is one of the essential keys to success. The model AMF-4F-36004000-30-8P low-noise amplifier (LNA) from MITEQ serves higher-frequency satcom systems by achieving a typical noise figure of only 3 dB from 36 to 40 GHz with at least 27-dB gain. It delivers better than +8-dBm output power at 1-dB compression across the full operating frequency range. The amplifier, which uses female K coaxial connectors on the input and output ports, draws 225 mA current from a +15-VDC supply.
